I got the XXS for my cat with an 8 inch neck, recommended by seller. It fit perfectly and I was glad to see a small plastic cat clasp on the collar instead of heavy metal. If the collar proves to be a problem for you, just know that collars can be changed if needed, as the bow tie has two black elastics on the back that can be attached to any other cat collar. Everything about the product felt sturdy and the loop was sturdy enough to likely hold its crisp shape. The only problem I had with the bow was that it made my cat lift her chin up because it was poking her throat. I should set the bow where it is, towards the back of the head or to the side.
