Depressurize and Slam

This is a replacement for the exact same product that has been used for 22 years. Minor adjustments have been made to the brackets to prevent sticking or pressing onto the product. Once installed, the pressure is released within approximately six inches of the closing door. I tried the screen and glass door settings for the current screen door but it still slams. I was at my parents house last week and noticed a Wright Products door closer on their screen door and the action closed smoothly without releasing the pressure.
