Movement too jerky

I had an earlier version of this but the motor died. Instead of replacing the motor, I bought a newer version. The movement is much more jerky than the old one. It's not smooth at all. What the previous reviewer said about its demise is also true, but it was also true of the old one. These things aren't well balanced, but if you put them on a flat surface and not fluffy fake snow, they should hold up. I just make a hole in my snow and fill in around the base. There is no singing here either. In the old one, the kids actually sang "Santa Claus is coming to town." It has music but no voice. I liked the language version better. Some icons have been added to the base, which is good at first glance, but there are also some oddities. The design has holes in the snow that look like kids are playing on a closed pile of bricks, which was odd. A white base would be better. The snowman they collect is weird too. Looks like they're trying to make Santa a snowman, but it looks scary like Burl Ives. A normal snowman would have been better. All in all it's not a bad product and a nice addition to the village. It's just not as good as the previous version. If you're aware of and agree with the cons I've listed, do it. Especially if Santa Claus is not currently flying over your village.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
