Cool product, happy with the purchase, maybe Ill buy it again.

This is my first telephoto, and in general, the experience of filming is still small. But I can compare with other Fuji lenses: with a classic whale zoom 18-55 2,8-4 and with a fix 35 2.0. Sharpness, of course, loses to both. Doesn't ring. But the question of what is considered sufficient sharpness - everyone has their own requirements in this regard. I have enough of this. The lens is plastic, but doesn't feel cheap either in appearance or feel. As for aperture - yes, sometimes it is not enough. But, since I initially took this lens mainly for shooting from a tripod, I don’t feel this lack. As a reporter, he is probably not good enough. From a tripod, the picture is clear and detailed within the capabilities of this optics, see examples of night photos. Background blur due to narrow apertures is weak for a telephoto. But this is not a portrait. Autofocus is a little slower than at 18-55 2,8-4, it can scour in the dark. But still enough nimble, completely silent and tenacious. Finally, this is not only a telephoto lens, but also a good macro lens, with rings. It is regularly supported for rings on 11 and 16 - native from Fuji or Chinese counterparts. In general, everything is determined by the range of tasks and a clear understanding of what this "hawkeye" can and cannot do. I took it to close the telephoto range when shooting video, and it reaches distant objects even better than older models, being 30mm longer than the XF 55-200mm f / 3.5-4.8 and 90mm (!) - XF 50-140 f / 2.8. That is, yielding to both in sharpness and aperture ratio, it wins in zoom. A couple of small life hacks on this model: 1. Instead of a cheap complete bayonet cap, you can wind up a quality one from another Fuji lens. Since at least one of the lenses is always on the body, there is always a free normal cover. 2. The lens hood can also be screwed on with the reverse side, towards the bayonet. This is convenient when transporting the lens. Photo examples are given without any processing at all, the scale is reduced to 50 percent. Shot on xt-30, white balance - automatic, color profile Std.

Pros
  • - the weight - color rendition - real stabilization (it is set, like the aperture, through the camera menu). - long-range: the maximum zoom in the line of all Fuji lenses, except for the XF 100-400mm f / 4.5-5.6 (teleconverters for 2 professional models are a separate conversation)
Cons
  • - sharpness - luminosity - leakage, lack of dust and moisture protection
