I don't usually write reviews but thought I'd write about this product because it might help other parents. And I'm all for making life easier for parents. First let me say that this splint looks great. When I was looking for a railing I wanted to be able to use this on both the current toddler bed (made from a convertible crib) and the double bed when the time comes. I didn't want to buy any more later. Today I assembled this rail. The instructions aren't that clear, but if you have common sense and read them a few times, it's very easy to assemble. When attaching it to a cot, you need to use the same common sense, and then everything will be just as easy. I pre-ordered a pack of Zipties (long ones) after reading some of the reviews on here. When installing on a crib with a metal mattress pad you will need zip ties to hold the rail in place. People say the anchor rope is too long for a crib - if you have even a bit of functional flair it's not too long at all and it fits. So I attached the frame to the metal support of the mattress with cable ties. Make the line short at the beginning. Then I just wrapped the Amkor rope around the back and brought the Amkor to the front - perfect fit. When it's in front and ready to be attached, adjust the remaining length and insert the mattress. I gave this item 4 stars because the instructions don't say anything about how to use the crib (it didn't really matter to me, but maybe to others). We only had it during the day too and ended up hoping the net will hold up (my toddler seems to want it). Also, I had to buy extra things to secure it. But it looks great, easy to assemble, looks like a quality piece compared to other rails I've seen and is functional for a crib!
