Despite great reviews, it didn't work for me: difficult to apply, short lasting and color too light

I did a lot of research before purchasing this product. I like makeup, but I'm not the type to spend a lot on it. I loved the idea of a matte lipstick that lasts for hours and of course Wet-n-Wild is a very affordable brand! As well as researching the product itself, which almost always gets great reviews, I also researched the color options by looking at lots of photos online and even watching videos. In the end I decided that Berry Recognize was the best shade for me as it goes really well with a similar color to mine (brown hair/brown eyes). Also, I wanted the shade to be a deep pink but not as bright as some of the other shades (like Nice to Fuchsia). The "C" shape is similar to lip gloss. However, unlike lip gloss, the product needs to be applied VERY quickly as it will start to dry and then flake off if you try to apply too much. And it's VERY difficult not to apply too much as the applicator picks up a lot of product. In fact, I found it easier to apply a little product and then blend it out with my fingers or a separate brush. I especially didn't want to use too much product because Berry Recognize was MUCH lighter than I expected! This is a very light, intense pink. My lips are full enough as it is and I don't like drawing too much attention to them with super bright colors, so this will probably just be a shade for a special occasion for me. This was a big disappointment as I wanted the color to be more for everyday use. (I tried to take a picture of it but it didn't capture the true color.) Another disappointment was the durability of this product. It is meant to be lightweight yet have "serious endurance". I agree that the product feels light, but I didn't find it lasted longer than a regular lipstick. After letting the product dry completely, I pressed my lips to the back of my hand - and I had a fuzzy spot! Likewise, I found that this product was definitely tolerated with meals and didn't last longer than one meal. I'm not sure how others have had such success with this product if it didn't work well for me at all. In fact, it almost completely turned me off from liquid matte lipsticks, and then I accidentally bought another product from the store, Rimmel Stay Matte Lip Liquid, Rose & Shine, .21 fl oz. This turned out to be exactly what I was hoping for from Liquid Catsuit! It was easy to apply, gave a great matte color and definitely lasted a long time without smudging. So I definitely have to recommend this product.
