I can confirm this button actually works on 2018 BMW X5 F15. Works great and highlights the letters just like the original. I used sticky putty, pressed the original button, made a small protrusion in the center for grip and quickly pulled it out. The original knob came out easily. The new red button fits perfectly. I love it
