Bought to replace our old Pyrex favorites which cracked and had to be thrown away. Borosilicate glass can withstand heavy impact in the kitchen and we prefer products made from this superior type of glass. Note that lids work well for covering something in the fridge that has been prepared and is waiting to be used in cooking. They don't close tightly like Tupperware or anything. We really like these measuring cups and I've accidentally banged one of them hard on the edge of the counter with no damage. This proved that they are doing what we need, which is to survive on a daily basis. We recommend these borosilicate glass measuring cups and other borosilicate glass products.
