The first owner of the cat and cancels the tray cleaning process. I mean none of us expected it. We originally used a toilet system based on all the reviews but it was always such a long and tedious process of scooping out all the debris and then replacing the trash. Then clean the tray with any pellets that the kitten pulled out with its paw. With the amount of kittens pooping, it's definitely more than a full-time job. We also had an open tray which was just annoying. Not only did this hooded box allow us to put the kitty's sleeping mat on top and hide her little treasures from the world, but it also made clean-up a lot easier. Literally grab one of the sheets, give a few seconds for the dirt to dissipate, have a bag next to you to toss your litter in and you're done. No scooping, no changing mats, no mopping up spills. Also, I was concerned that it would take a long time for the kitten to get used to the new litter box. nope! maybe a day or two, but no external disturbances. Once she realized that, she became a champion. We're not going back to a fashionable tray. It's all you need and clumpy kitty litter. Love it and highly recommend if you're tired of scooping!
