Initial reaction: mostly good

As soon as it arrived I put the batteries in and turned it on - after a few seconds the ready light came on, and when pressed, the device blinked. So far, so good. I bought it second hand at 20% off the lowest price I could find. More good news: The build quality of the case seems pretty solid, as does the shoe mount, although the button locking mechanism seems a bit questionable. It holds the device in place quite well, I'm just not sure how long it will last. On the other hand, don't sneeze while installing the batteries or the battery cover will almost certainly fly off and the diffusion screen is so thin it's gotta be a joke. Mine broke right out of the box, which is probably why the original buyer sent it back. The seller didn't bother to fix it, just discounted it and resold it. I'm not really complaining. I will find out the amount of the discount. It took about half an hour to pull the diffuser bracket out of its socket and assemble it properly. I'm still going to buy a softbox nozzle, so I guess I'll never use a diffuser. For what I paid for this flash I am more than satisfied. You may feel different if you pay more than $110.
