Well adjustable French Press

Plastic. For those of you trying to avoid its coffee flavor, I've done some work! I called the manufacturer before ordering this product and they stated there was no plastic on the plunger. Well, technically that's true as all the dip parts are stainless steel, but the lid insert that goes down to the spout and has an extra, unnecessary strainer IS plastic. The good news is that all you have to do is unscrew the top ball, remove the cap and pull out the entire plastic element. Then reassemble and you have a REALLY plastic-free pot! For others who say it's hard to clean, like all French presses you have to unscrew the bottom of the plunger and flush all the screens with water. Put it back together after drying. It's simple and doesn't matter. I can't imagine trying to delete it completely! And for those who still say it's not a thermos, well, were you expecting that? This item keeps the coffee hot for about an hour. Its big plus is that it doesn't break like glass. If you're tired of breaking and replacing glass carafes in other French presses and don't need the plastic, this is a great little pot. I brewed my first coffee in it this morning, removed the plastic lid and it worked great, just like the one I bought in Italy 2 years ago for $30 more (I still use it, it's for my husband and now that he's broken another glass, I bought this one for myself.)

Pros
  • Keeping my fists
Cons
  • Hard to say
