UPDATE: While I still urge extreme caution when using this dangerous tool, I did want to revisit a few weeks later. We abuse this thing way more than I'm sure it was designed for. and overload it with deep 7/8 contractions throughout the day. I'm shocked it still works. giving away the best $85 we've spent on tools during the pandemic. but, god, please be careful with this thing. First Review: This thing is heaven and hell. 5 stars, great cutter, 1 star, dangerous. One of the most dangerous tools I've ever used. folks, that says something. We have switched our shop to PPE and all our flashlights etc. are designed for other materials. I bought this to speed up our process as we try to keep up with demand. That thing cuts like an animal. We can quickly cut 15 layers of PMBB and SMS material. In addition to layout time, we can remove 42 masks from the cutting table every 6 minutes. Yesterday we pulled 2000 masks out of the cutout. IF YOU HAVE NO EXPERIENCE WITH POWER TOOLS, use caution. The trigger is in the form of a rudder without blocking. Putting the tool down turns the blade on. I had to change the tool for security reasons. We cut almost 7/8" thick and are really pushing the limits as we explore other options. If you are inexperienced with power tools, be very careful. For safety, we also wear OSHA-approved cutoff gloves in our shop. I have a big hand and with a cut glove it's hard for me to wrap my hand around this device My little asian army (the best seamstress in the world) can't use it We usually use hot knives and electric scissors This thing had the potential to be amazing but i won't let them touch it.The girls are very dear to me,they have been like family to me for many years.If you buy this item please be very careful.Also the rating, saying it was loud? To us this is the quietest power tool in the store. PLEASE BE CAREFUL.
