Can be dangerous for the wrong project.

I bought this to cut many layers of fabric to make masks for my sisters. I had tendinitis surgery a few months ago and cutting out parts of the template was giving me flare ups so I figured this might work. I underestimated the power of this machine - it runs too fast to cut detail accurately and as I layered the fabric multiple times the cuts were uneven and very sloppy. Really useless. It seemed dangerous and out of control. There's no way to slow it down. I went back to the old haircut. It…

Not for detailed cutting

quilter - they are not as accurate as manual cutter knives so you still have to trim a bit this way. You can get fairly straight lines if you mark the fabric with a marker or chalk and then move slowly, keeping an eye on the line/blade the whole time. It's more of an addition to your cutting tools than a replacement. Although it's certainly much sharper, faster and less tiring on the hands. If you do a lot of freehand cutting without needing great precision, you should get this little machine…

Fast and dangerous, first had to file the burrs on the sole

It looks like this device is made in China and sold under different names, so I looked for the cheapest one. Happy with the quality although mine arrived with some metal burrs on the sole which I had to file off to avoid rubbing/scratching when moving across the table. I've just started using it, so can't comment on its strength or durability (I'll update if necessary). Some points: - Initially I thought the weight would be an issue, but the weight doesn't matter since you're pushing it…

The Danger Will Be Robinson's Danger

UPDATE: While I still urge extreme caution when using this dangerous tool, I did want to revisit a few weeks later. We abuse this thing way more than I'm sure it was designed for. and overload it with deep 7/8 contractions throughout the day. I'm shocked it still works. giving away the best $85 we've spent on tools during the pandemic. but, god, please be careful with this thing. First Review: This thing is heaven and hell. 5 stars, great cutter, 1 star, dangerous. One of the most dangerous…
