In short, I've only been taking this L-lysine once a day for about 8-9 months, and sometimes I've missed a day that I forgot. I went to the doctor for a blood test a little over 4 months ago and it turned out that I had high cholesterol. This is very strange to me because in my family we don't have a family history, I'm a good weight, I exercise and eat a fairly healthy and balanced diet. After doing some research and then calling my doctor with the news, I stopped taking L-lysine because I discovered that it can raise bad cholesterol and should only be taken for a MAXIMUM of 3-4 weeks. It has been a little over 4 months and I am happy to report that my cholesterol levels are back to normal. The only change I made is that I stopped taking the L-lysine supplement. I'm sure it can help people, but I caution you to only take it for up to a month and then take a long break in between. I hope this hasn't happened to anyone before and I hope I won't have any lasting damage or problems later because of it. God bless!
