Review on FLAGTOP 5-in-1 USB C Hub for MacBook Pro, USB 3.0 Ports, SD Card & Micro SD Reader, 4K HDMI 60Hz, PD3.0/Thunderbolt, USB C Dongle Hub (YC-212) by Joe Michels

FLAGTOP 5-in-1 USB Hub C. You lose something, you gain something.

If you're planning on adding a USB Type-A, microSD/SD card and HDMI to your MacBook Pro (small chassis)...and losing a USB Type-C port, then the FLAGTOP 5-in-1 is it USB-C hub does the job. The device works as expected, so you can use USB Type A, SD card, USB Type C and HDMI without any problems. I hooked up an LG OLED TV and it worked fine at 4K, the text is too small, you can resize it to show more of it. You can charge your MacBook Pro via the FLAGTOP 5-in-1 USB-C hub. Useful when presenting on a large screen or projector while the hub blocks the USB Type-C ports on your MacBook Pro. I liked the little printed detail on the device showing the orientation of both the microSD and SD cards. So I'm not going to break it by trying to push it the wrong way. I've had the device for a few weeks now and it works just as well as the first time. The metal construction makes the device durable. It matches the color of the MacBook Pro Silver exactly. It's thicker than a MacBook Pro and sticks out at the back when plugged in. I can't ignore this when similarly priced devices have been designed to be a better match. If you're looking for a device to match the space gray MacBook Pro, look elsewhere. could squeeze in an extra USB port. Especially since I lost the USB Type-C connector. I received this device for free. I share my personal opinion after a few weeks of use and comparing it to similarly priced devices I've used.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Sad packaging
