I use them for my little rat pups and they love them. I often saw three of them huddled together on a round ledge. Overall this weight is in the 600 gram range, so the protrusions are pretty strong. Unfortunately the boys are getting bigger and can't fit on one sim anymore, so they fight over who gets to sleep on the round ledges (they prefer ALL to be one sim in a stack even if they have multiple sims to choose from) ). von) So to keep them from fighting I had to remove the bars for a while. I have given my young female rats (100-200 grams lighter than young) log ledges and they often use them for climbing. Maybe I'll clean up the round buttons the boys had and give them to the girls. If you have young rats they may try to sleep on them but will most likely outgrow them as was the case with me. (Though it was nice to see them all try to sleep on ledges once it was clear they had outgrown them.) If you have female rats, these ledges are the perfect size for perching. If 600g young males can be stacked on it, it will certainly fit an adult female as well (mine are young so that's a guess). Note: Due to my cage screen I had to add a few extra shims to keep the cleats level. Depending on your cage, you may not have this problem.
