I chose these because the description says they use real velcro. I wanted velcro all over the collar but it's soft except for the two ends which are velcro or something so only the end tabs stick to the collar. I prefer collars that fit completely. My puppies are 3 week old German Shepherds and these collars were a notch larger than the ones I've used from birth to three weeks old and seem to have enough room to grow to keep working for the next three weeks or so. , as long as the short part of the Velcro fastener does not wear out when adjusting the height.
