I have a monitor that turns on only occasionally and is connected to a monitor that is always on. With the previous switch, when the remote monitor was turned on, the image on the remote monitor appeared and looked normal. If the same operation is repeated with this switch, the remote monitor reports "unsupported video resolution". The only way to get the remote monitor to show the main monitor is to turn on the remote monitor first, then toggle that switch off and on again. This process, of course, causes the image on the main monitor to cycle off and on again. I worry that constantly turning the main monitor on and off will eventually burn it out. I would like to buy another of the more expensive switches that were originally used, the OREI switch, rather than trying to save money. with this switch. The reason I tried this cheaper switch was that OREI switches burned out after a year. A year of use for 3 or 4 times the price annoyed me so much that I decided to give this switch a try.
