Pros: Quality and durable materials, clear instructions. The device is well designed, but requires some equipment with tools for assembly and installation, as well as the ability to solve some minor technical problems, since sliding doors are not particularly standardized, and this device is universal. Cons: 1. It only comes in one color (unless I've missed something): white. My sliding door is ivory so I either have to paint it or live with it.2. The sash is very well made, as a three piece double pane window (apparently for insulation) but not suitable for our small dog, a miniature dachshund with a sensitive pointed nose. I believe this works best for a heavy or large flat-faced dog, such as a dog. B. a bulldog or a pit bull. So I removed the bottom two of the three horizontal segments and in their place glued two vertical lightweight plastic strips with ground weights. Now the dog races back and forth through the middle. An additional single thickness transparent plastic valve which could be split vertically in the middle would be a good improvement of the product.3. My main complaint, through no fault of the manufacturer, is that it doesn't work well on a 6 foot wide door with a 3 foot opening since after installation you only have a 2 foot opening. Luckily we're not tall people, but that's inconvenient, especially if you have to slide a large chair or table in or out. After installation, it can be removed by unhooking, but this type of device is more suitable for an 8ft wide sliding door. In addition, the sliding screen door must be completely closed and block the dog door, otherwise there will be free space for vermin at the free end. Luckily we don't have many bugs. Verdict: This well-made, high quality, reasonably priced device is perfect for a strong, flat-faced, tenacious dog when placed in an 8-foot white vinyl sliding door. When I have time I will replace it with a wall unit.
