Surprisingly strong!
I had to put a fire extinguisher in the trunk. I've tried double sided tape, glued on Velcro, and bungee cords, but it always ended up curling up. I was afraid the pen would fall out, the fire extinguisher would run out and make a huge mess. Attached it to the side panel of my Altima and it stayed in place! A month later, it's slowly starting to loosen, but it hasn't fallen yet. The extinguisher is quite heavy and I'm surprised at how well it stays in place.
