Review on IO CREST 4 Port SATA III PCI-e 3.0 x1 Expansion Card Non-Raid with Low Profile Bracket – ASMedia 1064 SI-PEX40156 SATA Controller by Lance Foster

Two additional hard drives connected easily. You don't need any drivers or anything like that. In the PCI-e 3.0 slot, the speeds are identical to what I got from my SATA ports, even when used at the same time. (But these are 5400 RPM drives only). My only complaints are completely superficial. This adds a few seconds delay to boot by showing a screen listing the installed drives. I have no idea if this is necessary or not, but it's annoying. There are also some completely unnecessary, extremely bright LEDs. I installed this on an old PC that I use as some kind of NAS/HTPC and the light is very noticeable and annoying in a dark room. Without the LEDs I would have given 5 stars.
