Having traveled extensively in the past I got a much larger tripod and put up with the size and weight. This time I decided to go as light as possible and still get great results. This tripod meets all the requirements for both of these problems. The assembly is top notch, the materials are excellent. I struggled to climb over the fence to get the right shot. But on other occasions I was able to fold the tripod down to its minimum size and place the camera and tripod on the railing of a concrete bridge. Guess it's part of the compromise for smaller blocks. I would still prefer the larger tripod I have, but I definitely didn't want to lug it around on an international trip. He did a great job and took second place. The photo I included was 15s, ISO 100 at f22.
