I have seen them for $12-$40 and I think the $12 price is more reasonable because they are not very good. . No matter you have shoulder length hair or medium back long hair, it is still difficult to use. The scooter is really thick and the clip to hold it on your head is not big enough to fit on the scooter. It is difficult to braid it with one side because the other side moves at the same time. You definitely can't sleep in it. This is one of those ones you do a few hours before going out and hopefully by the time you're done you'll have curls. Curls aren't curls, they're more like beachy waves if you do it right. I'm good at doing french braids for myself and others, but it was a bit difficult to braid them around the curlers. You can use the hair ties or hair ties that come with the kit, although that won't do much either. I think you should rather use old hair rollers than this long roller. It's more like three stars, don't waste your money on the product. I like the idea of not using thermal products, but this one isn't a hit.
