Excellent value tube amp

I bought this tube headphone amp with Massdrops Sennheiser HD6XX headphones, their specially tuned HD650 version at half the price. For those wondering what the difference is, they just cut the mids and highs a bit to be more balanced, while the bass produces a warmer sound. According to many audiophiles, tube amps go well with the HD600 series like Peanut Butter and Jelly. So I said why not go for the budget version instead of the insanely expensive version and test that belief for yourself. I'm glad I did. First, like many models in the 600 series, the HD6XX is very detailed in its sound. That's why they're so popular. Without the tube amp, the HD6XX are some of the best headphones you will ever buy. With a good enough tube amp, all the benefits of headphones are literally amplified. Of course, you first need an amplifier for the 600 series, because the headphones have an impedance of 300 ohms, so that you can hardly hear anything useful at normal volume from cell phones, televisions, computers, etc. I literally have to turn up the volume when using these types of headphones and it still won't be loud enough for most people. But the tube amp also improves the sound quality, making the music sound very clean and clear. That's the best way to describe the sound. There is no distortion, the instruments sound even more detailed. The bass is very clean and the vocals are so balanced you could almost think the singer is performing right in front of you. The soundstage has been greatly improved, giving music the feel of a live performance, especially when coming from a lossless, high-quality music source. And with the HD6XX's warmer sound profile, it also improves gaming and movie viewing, especially vocals for movies and shows and sound effects for video games. The amplifier itself does not get very hot even after many hours of operation. use, and it doesn't have the static noise problem that many tube amps have, even the much more expensive ones. The tubes themselves are also very easy to remove and replace. So if one of them blows your mind or you just want to try a different version for a different sound, you can easily do that. The only downside is that the tube amp comes with a short power cord. You'll either need to use an amplifier near a wall outlet or get an extension cord. However, this is a minor setback compared to all the benefits. I highly recommend this tube amp if you want to improve your sound without spending a fortune. Sure, a more expensive brand name will probably make your headphones sound even better, but if you think about it, you probably have the same attitude as me. Well, go ahead and add it to your cart. That's a good value.
