Nice re-entry into the warm sound of a tube amp with cinch connection and Sony 7506, update: 05/10/2019: All other systems I've heard since then, some with 5-digit audiophile dream systems, come mine Not too close to Fosi Mini Headphone Amplifiers, the Sony 7506 Fosi DAC or the Edifier powered speakers. Very happy with the purchase!. For the money, it's hard to find anything more acoustically accurate. I replaced the tubes with 5594 USA GE, but acoustically the difference was negotiable. Give…

Ok, but be aware…. best in home theater

This is a $50 headphone amp. You shouldn't expect miracles, but you can expect: What pleases: Inexpensive, looks interesting, sound is acceptable. I drove my headphones to 250 ohms with sufficient volume. What I didn't like: You really need a DAC in front of it to ensure enough volume. Also, I could definitely hear distortion in one channel that wasn't related to high volume but to higher frequencies. It could be a tube, an op-amp, or some kind of auxiliary circuit. Because if you spend money…

Does not fit turntable

The sound quality is excellent, very low noise level, ie absolutely silent. The problem I have with this is that it doesn't work with the player. Just not quite impressive, despite what is written in the description and shown in the diagram. If you read the manual it says it cannot work with the player so I am returning it. I've used it with line level gear and it works and sounds great and I'm sure it will sound even better after the tubes die. in, so anyone who wants to experience tube sound…

Works perfectly! I took off a star for a few things.

Seems to work great but my vacuum tubes are glowing blue. I checked that they are correct, just thought they were red, like in the photo and other reviews. Another reason we deducted a star was because the power adapter glowed blue. The view is unnecessary and creates a disturbing secondary scattered light. I put some vinyl stickers on the lights to dim the lights. That's the only reason I deducted a star. Works great with my audio player AT-LP 60 BT. Position the turntable for the phono stage…

Entry-level tube headphone amplifier

The value for money is hard to beat, especially in the world of tube amplifiers. It's a "hybrid" in the sense that it uses tubes for the preamp stage and ICs (operational amplifiers) for the gain stage. As you can see in the photo, you can roll Ruby and OU. There is 1 chip per channel, so they must be bought in pairs. I've tried this with a few different tubes - standard tubes as well as some popular Mullards, as well as a few different pairs of op amps. The differences were minimal. In terms…

Great sound, questionable structure. You get what you pay for.

First, let me say that if you are looking for a cheap headphone amp, you are making a good choice here. Paired with a Sennheiser HD 58X Jubilees, I get a killer bedroom for just over $200. Another reason I bought this amp was so I could connect my AT-LP60 to it and listen to the recordings through my headphones. It doesn't work well for a reason I'll talk about in a moment: ports. This amp was built with very cheap connectors to keep costs down. The 3.5mm connector on the back often causes an…

Installation problems and (eventually) victory!

When I first set up the P2, it didn't work with all three of my headphones. You could hear what was being fed into the P2, but it was very quiet (even at maximum volume), very far away and reverberant - like voices in a long tunnel. Figured out some errors with the included 1/4" to 1/8" adapter and narrowed it down to one obvious error. Swapped the included adapter for a known good one, but no change. I dug deeper and found that the 1/8-inch plug on all three of my headphones is TRRS, while the

Excellent value tube amp

I bought this tube headphone amp with Massdrops Sennheiser HD6XX headphones, their specially tuned HD650 version at half the price. For those wondering what the difference is, they just cut the mids and highs a bit to be more balanced, while the bass produces a warmer sound. According to many audiophiles, tube amps go well with the HD600 series like Peanut Butter and Jelly. So I said why not go for the budget version instead of the insanely expensive version and test that belief for yourself…
