This is a $50 headphone amp. You shouldn't expect miracles, but you can expect: What pleases: Inexpensive, looks interesting, sound is acceptable. I drove my headphones to 250 ohms with sufficient volume. What I didn't like: You really need a DAC in front of it to ensure enough volume. Also, I could definitely hear distortion in one channel that wasn't related to high volume but to higher frequencies. It could be a tube, an op-amp, or some kind of auxiliary circuit. Because if you spend money on good headphones and a DAC and listen to lossless music, you can also spend more money and buy a higher quality amplifier. My wife loves the look of this so I've been giving it to her for a long time.
