The sound quality is excellent, very low noise level, ie absolutely silent. The problem I have with this is that it doesn't work with the player. Just not quite impressive, despite what is written in the description and shown in the diagram. If you read the manual it says it cannot work with the player so I am returning it. I've used it with line level gear and it works and sounds great and I'm sure it will sound even better after the tubes die. in, so anyone who wants to experience tube sound with line-level devices is well served with this thing. Although I don't know many people who do. Most often you are amplifying an analog signal from an analog device. Not much as the tube amplifies your streaming music.
