After much research this is the right pair of RAM to double what I had on board in 2 full DIMMs on my DELL XPS 410. the ram looks different, this set has all the chips on one side but the one that came from dell has all the chips on both sides. But as long as you buy them in pairs, they should be plug and play. One thing, the 2 open DIMMs on my motherboard were filled with lint and I couldn't blow them out with compressed air. I ended up using a fabric softener sheet and it pulled out the lint and I guess it shrunk. possible static electricity that would have fried the memory when I installed it. Doubled my ram for $30 and about 2 minutes of work. Hopefully my computer lasts a few more years. At least Dell says factory memory has a shelf life of about 2 years before it needs to be replaced, so an extra 2 gigabytes is like a spare tire or insurance so I can keep going if I need to order more. I never thought RAM would be some sort of "expiry date" product, for goodness sake it's a solid state device. Anyway, if you have a DELL XPS 410 and want to double the RAM, this is the best buy.
