Review on 📷 Gitzo GC5210 Tripod Shoulder Strap - Ideal for Series 0 to Series 5 Gitzo Tripods (Black) by Melvin Man

I am very disappointed in the product and am returning it. The promotional text states that it works with old and new style Gitzo tripods, but clearly not with Systematic's new center post-less tripod. I understand some reviews have said this, but others have said they can install a top loop around one of the legs. When I tried it, it seemed likely that the cord would fray after repeated leg pulls and retractions. This gets in the way when the tripod is fully open. Maybe I could live with these problems. But now even worse: the crotch is only balanced for carrying a tripod. If you wear it with the ball head attached, as many people do, the extra weight makes the strap uncomfortable and dangerous unless you want to accidentally hit the ball head. You can adjust the length of the strap overall, but it doesn't help. What is needed is the ability to adjust the position of the shoulder pad, which is impossible. And from worst to unacceptable, the shoulder strap, while well padded, lacks grip. It slides and slides anywhere, even without the ball head attached to the tripod. The only safe way to wear it is over the head on the opposite shoulder, but in this case the relatively stiff (due to good padding) strap loses flexibility and cuts into the neck. Overall, this is far from the quality and design I've come to expect from Gitzo.
