Good strap if you have a Gitzo tripod

Good strap if you have a Gitzo tripod. I have a flat top 1325 but I managed to wrap the cable around one of the legs. Works well.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Minor issues

Does what it's supposed to do

A very efficient way to transport a tripod in the field. As others have said, your tripod needs a center column for this strap to work, and oh yes, read the instructions before attempting to attach it.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Low maintenance

Gitzo Tripod Shoulder Strap

Whether you're shooting cityscapes or landscapes, this is a must when using a tripod. The strap is great, but be sure to read the instructions that came with the strap before getting frustrated with the installation. Once you read the instructions, mounting it on a tripod is as easy as 1-2-3.

Pros
  • Easy to Use
Cons
  • Upgrades

Nice and durable strap

Nice and reliable tripod strap. I've used it to travel the world, walk in the bushes, climb mountains, etc. The velcro is reliable. The strap is a little difficult to tighten around the legs, but even if it's not tight, it's secure enough. On mine, after a few years of use, the fabric underneath the shoulder pad has worn away and exposed the foam padding. This does not affect functionality and it still works fine.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Some bugs

larger than i expected but works

good tripod strap that works well with climbers and larger tripods. The zip pocket is handy and the padding is a bit redundant, but it's clearly intended for systematic tripods. one to the 3/8" auxiliary port on the cross/base. No center column needed or required. Or use a ballast hook under the flat base. It's not rocket science.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • won't say anything

Surprisingly bad design.

I am very disappointed in the product and am returning it. The promotional text states that it works with old and new style Gitzo tripods, but clearly not with Systematic's new center post-less tripod. I understand some reviews have said this, but others have said they can install a top loop around one of the legs. When I tried it, it seemed likely that the cord would fray after repeated leg pulls and retractions. This gets in the way when the tripod is fully open. Maybe I could live with these

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Almost never
