A Huge Pain - Household Fans

If you plan on turning this fan on and never interacting with it again, then great. He's doing his job. This is a fan. But if you want to turn it on and off, adjust its performance, or move it from room to room, think again. The dial to toggle it on and off or adjust the intensity is one of the least useful features I've come across. . A "dimmer" switch on the fan seems like a great idea, but getting under the fan's outer ring is almost impossible. More than once I was cut (i.e. the skin was literally torn, cut and bled) by hitting the fan's sharp plastic edge while reaching for the dial. The cable is bulky, to say the least. It's 2 times longer than a normal fan cable with a huge block in the middle. Like a mobile phone, the plug is "charged" in an unfavorable place on the fan and is often unplugged. Maybe it's the performance of the fan? Or the "dimmer" function? I have no idea but it's a big pain. There is no good way to move this fan. This is the least reasonable of my complaints as I don't expect all my consumer electronics to have great carrying ergonomics. But since this fan has such sharp edges that I cut myself more than once, it's incredibly difficult to carry around and move from room to room. It's just embarrassing to deal with.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
