Review on AIP Electronics Generation Distributor Replacement by Justin Elmore

I bought this Opti to replace one I thought was misfiring on my '94 Caprice station wagon. (This Opti didn't fix the misfires - the problem was a dirty coil output wire which I cleaned up.) It was set at 1200 miles and started making a rubbing noise. I took it off and the input shaft bearing was completely destroyed - there was a lot of play in it. How the machine continued to work (and surprisingly worked well) I don't know. Luckily the Opti was just under warranty so I ordered a replacement. It also had noticeable play on the input shaft, so I sent it back with no installation. If you are very lucky and order one of these optics, be sure to check the input shaft play prior to installation. And remember you can test the machine without reinstalling the water pump to make sure the new Opti actually works before putting everything back together.
