It's so much fun. My 2 and 4 year olds throw it on the floor and start building every day. My son loves small animals and my daughter loves building an arch on top of a bucket. I love that there are so many different shapes and how easy it is for my son to put them together. The mega blocks only go together in one direction, they can be connected at any angle, which is fun for younger kids as they try to figure out how things work. I would say as a gift for a child, although the parts are smaller and it seems that several children are not enough to play and build without fighting over certain parts!
