Not So Good: Construction Toy

Unfortunately, this is the only case where the money saved wasn't worth it. They are cheaper than others and it shows in the way they work. They don't stick together well, you have to manipulate the pieces to make them stick together. Not just some - all. It might be fine for an older child, but it's definitely a turn off for my 19 month old grandson. He's also not the type to give up, but he gives them up because they're not very good at what they're supposed to be doing — sticking together.

Great for beginner builders

It's so much fun. My 2 and 4 year olds throw it on the floor and start building every day. My son loves small animals and my daughter loves building an arch on top of a bucket. I love that there are so many different shapes and how easy it is for my son to put them together. The mega blocks only go together in one direction, they can be connected at any angle, which is fun for younger kids as they try to figure out how things work. I would say as a gift for a child, although the parts are…

You will be loved by grandchildren and parents

I remember Bristle Blocks when my kids were little. I wanted a construction toy that would hold together when carried around and something that teething children could chew on and wouldn't injure too much if stepped on. They have met these requirements. The jungle animals were a big hit too! We removed a few small pieces so a one-year-old who's teething won't put them in his mouth. A 2.5-year-old child likes to build kits with the help of adults. Some parts are difficult to assemble safely, but

Easy for my little one to build

My 2.5 year old loves these bricks. She plays with it every day since I opened it for her. I bought her because I was looking for blocks that she can easily assemble. You meet all the requirements; it can connect them independently from all sides and disconnect them independently. That means she doesn't need my help, which comes in handy when I need to keep her a little busy. She loves small animals and flowers. She loves to make me a flower 😊. I love the color and durability of this set…

Pros
  • High marks for hold and durability from testers
Cons
  • Very expensive

Another great toy from Battat

I'm a fan of toys that encourage creativity and imagination. My 1 1/2 year old son always seemed to be drawn to mega blocks and the like so I figured these bristle blocks would be a hit with him. The bricks are excellent quality - the colors are great as always with Battat toys, the plastic is hard and durable and the edges are nicely rounded (if we inevitably come across one of them in the dark) and the pieces fit very easily together. This particular set is a great starter set as it offers a…
