Review on Dashington Marbles Glossy Scatter Aquarium by Todd Roberts

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Ugly damaged brown glass balls.

Based on reports and customer reviews I bought these balls hoping to use them as a top dressing for my pots. However, they turned out to be much worse than I had imagined. They have many imperfections - chips, dents, cracks and scratches marring the smooth, glossy black finish. Washing will not solve the problem. This makes them unsuitable for me because they don't look like smooth shiny black glass, but black glass with white dots. I don't know about everyone else, but I expect more from a product whose primary purpose is aesthetic. I had to go through 40 marbles before I could find 10 acceptable ones. If this is somehow representative of the rest of the balls in the bag, I find about 100 good ones (because the description says there are about 400 in a 5 pound bag). But I decided to quit at 10am and initiate a return. They just don't look as pretty as the balloons in the stock photo. The actual photos of the actual product you receive, taken outside of the studio and not photoshopped, are much more useful, which is why I've provided them here as an appendix to this review. - black or black and black. They resemble the color of a beer bottle when held up to the light. I know for a fact that I would not have made this purchase if someone else had posted some photos of the actual product before me - so I hope this helps.
