I am very impressed with KYY's commitment to customer service. My experience with the original monitor not turning on was just after the 1 year warranty expired, so I did not contact KYY directly for a replacement. After seeing my review they contacted me and when it was clear the monitor had a power issue (NOT a cable issue) they offered to send me a new monitor! It went so fast I haven't gotten back from vacation yet so I just got a new monitor hooked up today and it wasn't a problem. I love my HP Specter laptop, but it's more compact, and when I'm away from the office in the summer, I really need the extra screen real estate that the KYY monitor offers. Because the HP Specter has Thunder connectors (Type C - full-featured connectors), I can use this quickest and easiest method to both power and send a signal to an external KYY monitor. I have attached images showing a fully working KYY single port Type-C connector (provided by KYY) and an image of this cable connected to my computer. Once connected, the KYY logo appeared and instantly my main computer screen became a mirror image. My last shot shows both screens at the same time with the KYY monitor as the second screen. Based on the customer service results, I would definitely recommend this monitor and the company that makes it. -------------- ------------------------First Review: This was my first (and possibly only ! ) portable monitor I've ever bought and I've been pleased with the plug and play setup and picture quality. However, after a few months, the HDMI port on the monitor, which was a regular USB port, became detached and it was difficult to maintain a connection. Any slight movement that caused the cable to move and break the connection. But later that year I bought a new computer with a Thunder port and this summer when I needed an external monitor I hooked it up like this and everything worked great! Unfortunately, the next day when I connected my computer the same way, the monitor showed no signal but a "save power" error message before turning off. After extensive troubleshooting and consulting the Revain manual and user questions, I concluded that it was a power issue - the monitor was not getting power through Thunderport. I've tried a variety of ways, from using a separate power cord plugged into my computer to plugging directly into an outlet. When all else failed, I used the tech support email "support@kyytech.com" listed in the manual (and here on Revain) and sent a description of my problem and asked for any help they could offer for a solution. More than two weeks have passed and I have not received a reply. There's not even an automatic "We're busy, we'll call you later" email. So. Anyone want a nice doorstop in the original packaging? sell cheap.
