
I've had cold sores since I was a child. This is the only lysine I will use. Most lysine sold at most pharmacies will not work. It works out. I take 3000mg twice a day (6 tablets) along with olive leaf extract and vitamin C (Solgar, which is a type of L-absorbing acid as it is the real vitamin C) and sublingual B-12...this is very important. I do that when I sense the eruption coming, I don't do abstracts every day. I almost never get herpes, but now the same combination described above can also delay shingles. If you have herpes, shingles, or cold sores... avoid jelly, gelatin, nuts, cereal, chickpeas, peanut butter, chocolate, especially combined with nuts, hummus, and ricotta cheese. They are all very high in arginine and you should avoid it as it can cause ulcers and flare-ups in those of us who are prone to it.
