Just spent about an hour with Dymo tech support. There seems to be a known issue where the scanner does not work well/at all with USB 3 ports. Unfortunately, the Microsoft Surface I use only has one USB port, namely USB 3.0. Even when using a port expander (that is USB 1 and 2) the scanner is never recognized. It worked fine on a Windows 7 Pro x64 PC. The only problem I had was that the scan output in MS Outlook 2010 annoyed me. When scanning the card, the email address was recorded as two separate entries in Outlook. The same problem can occur if some phone numbers are recorded/saved twice. Otherwise, the software worked surprisingly well. If that was the only problem I would give 4 stars. However, I currently own a $200 paperweight.
