The dipstick was slightly longer (1.25 inches) than the original. It fitted well and didn't cut through, but the low to full notes were also at the wrong depth. Had I not noticed this and thrown out the old dipstick beforehand, I would have always been at a lower level than necessary and probably endangered the life of my already old engine. Luckily I spotted the mistake and marked the dipstick where it should have been. It could be bad and I would have returned it, but I needed a part to seal the oil compartment.
