Review on πŸ”ͺ KONOLL 7-inch Santoku Thunder-K Series: Handmade Professional Chef's Knife, German High Carbon Steel by Krystal Simmons

Looks heavy but is boring

This knife is good for slicing fruit and veg but is not my first choice. For the current asking price of around $29, I expected more. I'm not expecting a truly professional quality blade, but I did expect it to be sharp and a big improvement over the previous budget Santoku knife I had. It wasn't much of an improvement. The design of this knife looks like it would be at home in a rustic kitchen. The wooden handle is thick and strong, easy to handle with medium to large hands, but not the best choice for people with small hands. The blade looks cool with a matte finish and quick release dimples. They are designed to prevent food from sticking to the blade and it has worked well on the vegetables I tested this on. While I'm a fan of the style of this blade, I was disappointed with the finished look. For some reason it doesn't seem all that attractive, more like something I would buy at a thrift store. If that's your aesthetic, this might work for you, but it seemed out of place in my kitchen. Overall I would not recommend this blade. I think it's good but overpriced for an average quality product.
