The best intake gaskets you can use on an older Ford 289 with Edelbrock Performer RPM heads. My suggestion would be to NOT use the end seals that come with the kit and do what 99% of all do and put a bead of silicone sealant on the end caps and maybe a little around the front and rear water jackets and bolt the manifold on. and leave this on preferably for the night. I've found Permatex ULTRA BLACK, which you can see in silver/black tubes at auto parts stores (new product tube colors), to do the job well. Others cannot. Just make sure you run the caterpillar from side to side from the exact ANGLE where the elbow meets the heads, and don't be afraid to use just enough to fill any gap you had , and then some more if you ran the manifold dry. using a sealant. (DRY put the manifold on the heads, no sealant, and look at the FRONT and REAR clearance. Then use some more and you'll be fine. Hope this helps someone.
