Review on 🔥 Lasko 5165 Digital Ceramic Tower Heater: Remote Control, 1500W, White – Efficient Heating Solution by Brenda Willoughby

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Suitable for a large room, the beep is very annoying (Fix available)

I received the LASKO 5165 and am very happy with it to heat a fairly large bedroom in the basement - I have only used it a few times a week so can't comment on durability but this is the third Lasko heater I've bought and I've never had a single rejection (I used to give them away when I moved so I'm buying them again and again). The room is quiet. large, with high ceilings, so it's difficult to get to the set temperature, but you can feel the heat almost immediately. Fan noise is comparable to other Lasko heaters I've had in the past. The high and low modes do not change the fan noise. I wouldn't call it quiet, but I don't find it annoying or too loud - I don't use it while I'm sleeping, but I've found it bothers some people using it at night. I paid attention. to the heat of an outlet based on Revain reviews and when I feel a wire/connection point I realize it gets hot so as with any heater I would hate to turn it on unattended and I use the outlet, where the outlet/plug is located does not come into contact with curtains/furniture. The body of the heater stays perfectly cool during use, so I can easily move it around if I want to change position in the room. Noise when changing a setting! You can't turn this noise on or off, so it's always beeping and it's pretty loud. You can remove the PCB speaker if you wish, but this will likely void the warranty and you'll need to be careful that it's still working. sure afterwards. I've done this twice - I removed it on this heater and on another Lasko heater I bought years ago. You can google the instructions but the basic procedure is: 1) Unscrew the screws on the back of the case (you will need Phillips and Torx screwdrivers) - be careful there is a wire attached to it (probably a temperature sensor) Pay attention So be careful not to unplug it when removing the case. 2) Unscrew the circuit board on top of the unit (5 screws (one in the middle)) 3) On top of the circuit board there is a black donut-like thing - it's a speaker - carefully remove the whole block with pliers (I also used a flathead screwdriver to wedge the bottom) - do not remove any of the wires that are already attached to the board. 4) reattach everything. -- no noise! Of course be very careful if you damage the board, it may not work at all or be unsafe to operate, proceed at your own risk and use common sense. I'm happy with the results, but then I watch closely to make sure everything is ok. Right after I ripped the speaker off I always had this feeling of dread that I broke it, but luckily I didn't notice any degradation in performance after this repair. If it didn't have a beep I would probably give this item 5 stars.
