I have a PS4 that I like to use with controllers without plugging the mic into the bottom of the controller. It adds unnecessary weight and gets in the way of my goal. This worked great as a medium for a plug and play mic adapter. I had to purchase a low profile USB extension cable as the USB end on this device is too wide to fully plug in. . A few unintended extras are that the audio on the controller's 3.5mm jack toggles on and off when the controller starts to die. That way you can get around this, and if your controller fails right away, you'll keep the audio and voice during the transition. Would highly recommend for the price.
