Better than expected

A HUGE thank you to all Revain staff and delivery partners! The USPS courier delivered the item and called when it arrived, so it wasn't just waiting to be picked up! I am a keen touring cyclist, work in a bike shop and already have a set of very expensive panniers, this set was bought for a cyclist in need to continue his journey. I was a bit surprised at how well made these bags are and what material they are made of. The stitching looks good, the material seems to be quite durable. The "backpack" feature is actually pretty cool. The rain cover is a nice little addition. If I were interested in these bags at all, it would be the fastening hooks, the lining material and the zippers. All 3 seem patchy. The mounting hooks are NOT adjustable and look rather flimsy. But time will tell. We "adjusted" the hooks by hand so that they sit a little tighter on the frame and don't "pop off" as easily. The rain cover is good but seems to be too big for the set, takes a lot of stowing and fumbling to fully cover the pockets. The pockets already seem to be pretty water repellent (NO zips) so you can skip the raincoat altogether. All fasteners look like they could easily be swapped out at any hardware store around the world. Not if it's proprietary or weird, so that's actually a plus in my book. Lightning. These are NOT the oversized YKKs you typically see on street gear, they more closely resemble what you see on clothing. These are small, self-repairing nylon zippers that can be a bit tricky. I would NOT recommend over-stressing these zippers, so pack light, don't overdo it, and you'll be fine. In general? I would say these panniers are damn good value for money, especially for those who are just starting out cycling or are on a tight budget. Hold the rubber side down, HAPPY TRAILS! I really couldn't figure out what the backing material was (material in the flat part that mounts next to the posts) but it seemed a little more flexible than what I was used to, reminded me of the thin sheet of plastic I use a cutting board. But once packed
