Update February 12, 2016: I updated this review shortly after it was posted, but the edit doesn't seem to be sticking! I was wrong. Once I connected the Cinema USB cable to the MBP along with the Mini Display Adapter, everything worked fine. -------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- - I bought "3.1 MDP Grey" to connect my late 2016 Macbook Pro with Touch Bar to my 2010 Apple Cinema Display which has a Mini Display Adapter (see next paragraph for explanation). I found that this adapter does not carry the camera signal. Therefore, MBP does not recognize the built-in camera on the cinema display and you cannot use it to take a photo/video of yourself or use video Facetime/Skype. Apple only sells a Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter. The genius bar guy told me he just read an internal note saying the T-3 to T-2 adapter doesn't work with a cinema display with a mini-display connector. Although the MD connector has the same form factor (i.e. looks identical) as the Thunderbolt 2 connector, the cabling or signaling is different. The Cinema Display cannot interpret the signal coming from the USB-C port of the MBP.
