Review on πŸ› οΈ Diving into Efficiency: DEWALT 247-Piece Mechanics Tool Set (DWMT81535) by Todd Phillips

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Nice set but I expected more.

This set has a good set of basic wrenches and sockets but some things are lacking. I'm not a professional, in fact this tool set is my first exposure to mechanical tools and perhaps it gives me a unique perspective on the subject. First thing I had was the plugs coming loose from the case and also my latex gloves from working on the car were oily and it was just annoying. On the other hand, they remain in place when transporting the tools. Second, these ratchets don't have a release button on the back. Again, my hands with oiled gloves just slipped off the outlet and I had a hard time changing outlets quickly. Third, the 1/4 adapter, which allows you to use ratcheted torx bits, does not have a magnet. So if you try to use it in hard-to-reach places, it will fall out and you'll have to look under the car for your bit if it falls through. Fourth, it has a limited number of keys in mm. Could really use 8mm and 17mm but the range is only 10-15. I think what I liked most about this set was that it had more than one outlet expander so I could get to more places. Hope that helps. Will I buy this set again? Probably no. I would go for something with a quick release and hex socket. Hooray!
