update. The plastic cap that is on top of the telescopic pole broke after 3 weeks of use. There is no way to contact the seller outside of the returns window. I bought an aluminum telescopic pole thinking it would be sturdier than the PVC model. It's very unstable. Putting the tonneau cover on the pole is a two man job, but the pole is still prone to tipping over. I don't know how it will hold up when it snows. You can easily build a support structure out of a PVC pipe and arches.

Pros
  • Mushroom head and sturdy base. This sturdy stand consists of a mushroom cap and a large sturdy 7 inch base. The 7" round base provides greater stability and durability, helping to hold your boat's cover or tarpaulin in inclement weather.
Cons
  • Big and bulky
