This is a really good toilet seat for the price. I have this because I have preschoolers who slam the lid. I'm sick of the noise and the possibility of breaking my fingers. The packaging clearly says "don't stand on the lid" and that's because it interferes with the hinges and the seat freezes in mid-air. I found this out after my kids stepped on it a few times to get to the sink. (I don't know how many times it's lasted. The kids never "admitted stepping on it".) The seat still closes easily and I still don't have to worry about pinky fingers or a rattle Listen. Lid. This is still our victory.
