This is a good kettle when you want to boil water quickly. I filled the kettle between the minimum and maximum levels to get a good idea of how long it takes to boil. I started the timer when I pushed the button and it took just over 4 1/2 minutes to complete the cycle. As soon as the water boiled, the kettle turned itself off. My only concern is the plastic switch, which doesn't seem to be very durable. The time will show. So, plus points: water boils about the same time as a kettle on a gas stove, maybe a little faster. The large opening facilitates access for washing. Runs out very quickly. When everything is ready, and also turns off when you remove the electrical unit. It stays cool even when filled with boiling water. Cons: There is no way to know how much water is in the pot without opening the lid. The plastic switch that turns the device on doesn't seem to be very durable. Overall this is a really good kettle and should last me a very long time.
