These are OEM replacement filters for use in a 1.5 gallon shop vacuum. In my experience a set of three filters lasted about 6 years including losing the last filter. I use a shop vacuum fairly often for cleaning home improvement projects, car cleaning, and general web hunting. For general cleaning, you don't need to remove and clean the filter frequently. The filter clogs quickly collecting fine dust from sanding drywall, like everything else I've used. Porridge doesn't go through the filter, it's not considered a HEPA filter, but it does its job well. the advantage of having a spare filter that allows you to quickly remove the dirty one and replace it with a clean one. They can be washed, but a good shake is usually enough. I immediately bought and replaced the foam rubber (wet) under the filter. It's nice to note that you don't have to spend nearly as much as you would for an original shop vacuum to get multiple filters, unlike some other devices.
